Waleed Kanber-agha

Role: Project Manager, Civil Engineer
What is your role in managing client projects?

My role is to oversee the entire project lifecycle, from grasping the client's vision to communicating it clearly to our team and subcontractors. I handle procurement, budgeting, and timelines directly, ensuring everything stays on track and within scope. As a project manager, I take full control of the projects I handle, delivering results that will meet or exceed your expectations.

How many years of experience do you have in commercial remodeling?

I've been in the construction industry since 2009, managing projects valued up to $250 million. Since founding WBuilders in 2017, we've honed our management tools and processes to meet modern demands. Our entire team is PMP-certified and update our methods to keep our operations sharp and efficient.

What do you enjoy most about working with clients on remodeling projects?

I thrive on the challenge of turning my client vision into reality, starting with identifying long-lead items and tough trades early on. What gets me most excited is when a client throws out an "impossible" request, where after discussing creative solutions and find a solution that I didn’t even think it was possible at the get-go.

Can you share a quick example of a project you're proud of?

Absolutely—one standout is a 1,000-square-foot basement remodel in Vienna that we transformed into a standalone ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit). During pre-construction, I navigated complex requirements from multiple permitting departments, including egress windows, active fire alarms, and parking mandates. Addressing these upfront with the client avoided costly change orders and kept the project flowing smoothly.

What's one fun fact about you outside of work?

I'm a hiker and past tennis player, but lately, pickleball has taken over—our whole management team are proud pickleballers!
